Downton Abbey-Inspired Jewelry Class with Patricia Storlie

Patricia Storlie has a PhD in microbiology, but secretly loves being an artist, teacher, and Downton Abbey enthusiast! She took jewelry classes in order to supply her sister and wedding party with accessories, and was hooked. One of her favorite words is "baubles."

Downton Abbey, a popular BBC series, has captivated audiences around the world with a glimpse into bourgeois vs. servant life in the early 1900's. The insurmountable beauty of the era in which this show occurs highlights delicate details of the Victorian aesthetic, captured well with the subject of our class: a hand-crafted piece of vintage-inspired jewelry. With softly shaped freshwater pearls, thin and delicate sterling silver, and luscious cotton cording at your fingertips, you will learn basic jewelry-making techniques with tools of the trade. Then, get ready for a shower of compliments: you will definitely turn heads while wearing this!

This is the template for our class. Cotton or leather cording, naturally shaped freshwater pearls in a variety of colors, and silver accents.
